  • Nanjing Underwater World (50 meters away from the hotel)
    There are over 10000 marine lives of more than 200 kinds in Nanjing Underwater World .The building covers an area of more than 100,000 square meters. It is divided into the Hall, Tropical Rainforest Exhibit Area, Seal Show Hall, Penguin Hall, Touching Pool, Underworld Tunnel, Show Hall of Human's Dance with Sharks, Underwater Theater, Dolphins Hall, Computer Classroom and Pavilion Gallery. Among them, Dolphins Hall has been proved as the largest and most advanced ocean theater in Eastern China. Under the direct sunlight through the glass ceilings, the dolphins, stages, waves and audience perfectly blend into light and shadow. When you come to the 74-meter-long underwater tunnel, you can see sea turtles of more than 100 kilograms, sharks of more than 3 meters and rainbow fish of more than 1 meter through glass. And you will feel the broadness and mystery of the sea.

  • The Art World of the Red Mansion (50 meters away from the hotel)
    Opposite to our hotel, The Art World of the Red Mansion covers an area of more than75, 000 square meters. Its design is greatly influenced by the typical characters and gardens in the former eighty chapters of A Dream of Red Mansions. It takes natural landscape as the main body which is decorated with antiquing architectures and sculptures. It has 12 units. The museum for records of A Dream of Red Mansions of Cao Xueqin introduce subjects like the rise and fall of Cao family, historical sites, the versions of A Dream of Red Mansions, clothing, porcelain and paintings. This place is not only a theme garden of regions south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, but also a faithful reproduction of the culture of the Red Mansion.

  • Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum (300 meters away from the hotel)
    Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is listed as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2003. It is the tomb of Zhu Yuanzhang (1328-1398, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty) and his queen. It took 25 years to build this mausoleum with a huge expenditure of resources involving 100,000 labourers under heavy guard of 5,000 station troops. There are many pavilions, pines and deer in it. After many wars, there only exist the Stele Pavilion, the Scared Way, the Stele Temple, the Civil and Military Square Gate, the Ming Tower and the Tomb Mound. The stone carvings along the 800-meter-long Scared Way in the east of the tomb is a must-see scenic spot. The Sacred Way is divided into two sections. The front section is flanked by twelve pairs of stone animals in six kinds: each kind of the animals has two pairs, one standing and one kneeling. The animals are arranged in proper order: lions, xiezhi, camels, elephants, unicorns and horses. The second section is flanked by four pairs of stone wengzhong: two pairs of generals and two pairs of civil officials. The stone human statues and animals are made of complete stones. They are huge and lifelike, which is the typical stone carving of the Ming Dynasty.

  • The Plum Blossom Hill (400 meters away from the hotel)
    The Plum Blossom Hill is one of the most famous scenic spots for appreciating plum blossoms. There are many gardens like cherry garden, Bo'ai pavilion, etc. In the early Spring, 13,000 plum trees of more than 200 kinds bloom bloom, which create a spectacular view. It is worth mentioning that The Plum Blossom Hill is the tomb of Sunquan (182-252,the founder of Eastern Wu during the Three Kingdoms period in China). When Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang was constructing the tomb, he said that Sunquan was an influential man and he decided to take a detour along the hill. So the two emperors' tombs are opposite to each other. After Wang Jingwei (1883-1944, the leader of the left wing of the KMT) died in Japan, Wang's body was carried to Nanjing and also buried here. In 1946, KMT blew up Wang's grave and built Plum Appreciation Pavilion there.

  • Meiling Palace (400 meters away from the hotel)
    Located at the Xiaohong mountain which is 200 meters away from the east of the Sifang City, Meiling Palace is formerly called as "The Mansion of the National Government Chairman" and later was used as the lounge for senior officials who visited Sun Yat-sen's mausoleum. After the victory of Anti-Japanese War, it was rebuilt as the villa for Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling and the United States ambassadors. It gained the name of Mailing Palace for Chiang couple's permanent residence there. The main structure is a multi-eave roof building which has green glazed tiles on its roof. Recently, more than 1,000 phoenixes have been discovered on the tiles. The entire building is spectacular both inside and outside. The ground floor has secretary office and reception room. In the west of the second floor are living room and reception room while in the east is the bedroom of Chiang couple. The display is arranged in the original form. The surrounding areas have lush trees and various kinds of flowers which send aroma all year round.

  • Zixia Lake Park (500 meters away from the hotel)
    Located in the south of Purple Mountain, Zixia Lake covers an area of more than 220,000 square meters. It has scenic spots like Zixia Lake, Dinglin Villa (Wang Anshi Memorial Hall), Moya Stone Inscriptions of Lu You (1125-1210, a famous poet in Song Dynasty), Stone Tablets of Yan Zhenqing (709-784, a famous calligrapher in Tang Dynasty), the Rectitude Pavilion, and the Free Life Pond. The newly-built Padding Pool is a famous summer resort in Nanjing. Zixia Lake gets its name by the Zixia Cave (near the Rectitude Pavilion on the east coast of the lake). Zixia Cave, formerly called Zhuhu Cave, is the 31st Taoist Fairyland recorded in Taoist scriptures. In the end of Yuan Dynasty, a Taoist priest named Zhou Dian lived there in seclusion. After Zhu Yuanzhang ascended the throne, he entitled Zhou Dian as Zixia Immortal. Therefore the cave Zhou Dian lived also changed its name. The beauty of Zixia Lake lies on its green lake and mountains.

  • Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden (500 meters away from the hotel)
    Built in 1929, Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden is one of China's four biggest botanical gardens as well as one of the 48 scenic spots of Nanjing for its abundant plants. Located in the northwest corner of our hotel, it covers an area of 1867,000 square meters. Adjoining Qianhu Lake and adjacent to Zhongshan Mountain, the garden enjoys mild climate and lush vegetation. Now the garden has more than 3,000 kinds of over 100,000 plants, 10 theme gardens, and 700,000 collections of specimens. It also has Ornamental Plant Center, Medicinal Plant Center, Plant Information Center, Key Laboratory of Plant Immigration Protection and the largest plant herbarium in eastern China. It is not only a world-famous comprehensive modern botanical garden which combines scientific research, science popularization and sightseeing but also a mysterious and attractive tourist destination.

  • The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum (800 meters away from the hotel)
    The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is the main scenic spot of the national key Purple Mountain Scenic areas. Facing south, it adjoins Purple Mountain and is adjacent to the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum in the east and Linggu Temple in the west. In 1925, Sun Yat-sen died in Beijing. When Sun Yat-sen was alive, he hoped that he could be given a piece of land in the east of Purple Mountain for his tomb. Therefore, the Nationalist Government began to build this magnificent mausoleum for him in Nanjing. Mr. Lv Yanzhi designed this mausoleum. He uses a shape of bell to represent Mr. Zhongshan's contribution to revoking the public to fight for the country. The number of the steps is 392. This is not a random number. It symbols that the number of Chinese population at that time was 392million. A funeral ceremony was held for Sun Yat-sen on June 1st, 1929. The worship hall combines the oriental and western building styles, which is 70 meters higher than the square. And the vertical plaque under the eave is inscribed with 4 characters "tian di zheng qi (the uprightness of the universe)". In the center of the hall sits the marble statue of Sun Yat-sen. There are many commemorative attractions like the Music Station, the Depository of Scriptures (Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall), the Meiling Palace, Liuhui Water Pavilion, Guanghua Pavilion, Xingjian Pavilion, Yongfeng House, Yangzhi Pavilion, Zhongshan Academy, etc. The entire scenic area is pleasant with lush trees all year around.

  • Nanjing Ming City Wall (1500 meters away from the hotel)
    Nanjing Ming City Wall is the production and symbol of Zhu Yuanzhang choosing Nanjing as the capital of the Ming Dynasty as well as the only city wall located in regions south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in Chinese history. Constructed in 1393, the city wall didn't follow the previous style but constructed according to the geographic features. Therefore it is not foursquarely shaped. The city wall in Ming Dynasty was 33,396 kilometers long at that time with 13 gates and 2 water gates, which is famous for being solid and grand. The existing wall is 23,734 kilometers long. It is said that the Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang commanded the artisans to engrave their names and casting date and place on every brick in order to ensure brick quality. Some characters on the bricks are still clearly visible. You can go out of the hotel and step on the city wall to have a bird's view of Nanjing.

  • Linggu Temple (1500 meters away from the hotel)
    One kilometer away from the east of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is Linggu Park, also called as Linggu Temple by Nanjing people. Enter the park, you will be greeted by huge trees, gurgling streams and the winding paths which lead to a secluded quiet place. You can also find many places of interest in this park. The scenic spots can be divided into three parts as middle line,western line and eastern line.

    The representative buildings of the middle line are the Memorial Pagoda for revolutionary martyrs and the Beamless hall (the hall of Buddha of infinite longevity, which is the oldest and biggest arch buildings in China). The Memorial Pagoda, also called Linggu Pagoda has inscriptions both inside and outside. The inscriptions include Sun Yat-sen's motto of Whangpoa National Academy at the opening ceremony. The pagoda is a 9-storyed octagonal pagoda with a height of 66 meters, which has a spiral stairs. The steps wind up to the top , from where the travelers can have a bird's view.
    The representative buildings of the western line are closely related to monk Baozhi (418-514, a famous monk in the Southern Dynasty). The scenic spots include Monk Baozhi's Temple, Monk Biochip's Pagoda, the Stele of Three Excellent Works, the Flying Scissor, and the Dragon Stone. The Stele of Three Excellent Works is located in the south of Monk Baozhi's Pagoda. Zhang Sengyao, a famous painter in the Liang Dynasty, drew a portrait of monk Baozhi for Kaishan Temple. In the Tang Dynasty, Wu Daozi (680-759, a famous painter) redrew a portrait of monk Baozhi following up the former portrait, and Libai (701-762, a famous poet) composed a eulogy which was wrote by Yan Zhenqing (709-784, a famous calligrapher). Since the picture, eulogy and calligraphy are inscribed on the same stele, people call the stele as Stele of Three Excellent Works.
    The classic architecture of the eastern line is the Linggu Temple. It is the only temple which still survives among over 70 Buddhist temples constructed in Liang Dynasty. Many people pay respects to the temple. The parietal relics of Xuan Zang (600-664, a famous monk) are the most valuable treasure of China's Buddhist.there is an Osmanthus Park which convers an area of over 1,133,000 square meters.there are over 20,000 osmanthus of 38 kinds in the park. The sweet-scented osmanthus blossom and send aroma every autumn.

  • The White Horse Stone Sculpture Park (2000 meters away from the hotel)
    The White Horse Stone Sculpture Park covers an area of over 300,000 square meters. It is located in the northwest of Purple Mountain and adjoins the Xuanwu Lake in the west. The park is characterized by stone sculptures. Stone sculptures which are scattered in Nanjing are collected and displayed together in this park. The buildings are decorated with plants like flowering peach. The White Horse Stone Sculpture Park is the first theme park of stone sculptures which combines ancient and present arts and provides a place for people to cultivate the heart and nature. It is a good place to learn the history of Nanjing.
  • Sifang City (200 meters away from the hotel)
    Sifang City is a symbolic building of the underground palace of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. Actually, it is a stele pavilion. It is a square building which has an arched door on all four sides. It originally had a multiple eave hipped-roof but now it does not exist. There is a Eulogistic Stele of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum for Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang by his son Zhu Di (1360-1424, the second emperor of the Ming Dynasty) inside. The stele is 8.78 meters high and has the largest size of stele in Nanjing. The tablet inscription is written by Zhu Di himself. There are 2,746 characters on it in total. The carvings of the pedestal and head of the tablet are delicate and magnificent.
